      • Do not use animal fur, endangered species, or leather from exotic and wild caught animals
    • Give and Toss Campaign
      • Aim: to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills
        • Recyclable waste is collected and sent to recycling centers for processing
        • Other waste is sold on for sorting and processing and is turned into playground matting and athletics tracks
        • Any waste leftover after all of this is sent to their local Materials Recycling Facility where it is sorted, processed and turned into fuel pellets
        • The pellets in turn are burnt as fuel to generate energy to send back to the grid
      • Result: 3% of waste ends up in landfills
  • Promote social mobility through music
    • Docs began as work shoes but then, with the help of music, became a social statement and a way to express individuality
      • The Joe Strummer Foundation
        • Give opportunities to aspiring musicians and to support projects around the world that create empowerment through music
        • Frequent donations
          • One donation was to a recording studio that focuses on working with the disadvantaged and homeless
          • For every copy of the Dr. Martens book ‘A History of Rebellious Self Expression’ that is sold in our own retail stores, 50 pounds are donated
