"To inspire and nurture the human spirit–one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time."
How will the person who agrees to buy/interact with Starbucks life improve?
- Strategic: Mobile App for on-the-go customers. Order and pay right from your phone when you need a quick pick-me-up! This allows customers a quick option if they don’t have time for those long drive-thru lines, that are supposed to be the quick option!
- Personal: Starbucks offers a comfortable area for customers to enjoy a cup of coffee, a conversation with a friend, or just a convenient place to relax with free wifi. There is no requirement to purchase a drink to enjoy their lounge!
- Financial: Happy hour and promotions! Starbucks offers a happy hour each week where certain drinks are discounted for a few hours allowing customers a chance to save money when they can. They know they have many loyal customers and want to give them the satisfaction of a Starbucks product for a good price! They also have many other promotions throughout the years on their app and in store!
How does Starbucks benefit the world?
- Financial: Starbucks offers high quality products for a fair price. They are a little pricey compared to their well-known competitor, Dunkin’ Donuts, but the quality of their products are a little higher end. They are about equivalent to that of a non-chain fancy little coffee shop. They allow their customers the satisfaction of knowing every product they purchase from Starbucks is made for their benefit!
- Strategic: Today many people are concerned about the environment. Pollution is an issue, animals being killed and much more. Starbucks is taking a step in a greener direction by getting rid of straws in their shops and using sippy lids. They are also selling reusable cups and straws for their loyal customers to invest in to be more eco-friendly! This will definitely bring in more customers who are going green!
- Personal: Community service is something that Starbucks makes sure they do not leave out! Starbucks is driven by the community and they make a conscious effort to give back to the people. They participate in projects that help the community come together and work as one to make the environment a safer place for all. They also aim to reduce their environmental footprint and want to influence other brands and companies to do the same.

Starbucks - Anita Berisha, Mary Obregon, Lexie Mouzakes, & Ashley Allegretti
Why:
- To supply the world with the finest coffee and espresso drinks
- Providing a comfortable place to catch up with friends, homework, work, etc.
- Mission statement: To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.
How:
- Opening up more and more stores globally in order to gain more loyal customers around the world. This includes over 17,000 stores in over 50 different countries.
- Drive- thru at more than half of the locations for the average on-the-go person
- Leader in the mobile space: Starbucks is becoming more innovative with it’s app in which they created Mobile Order, Digital Tipping, earning and redeeming rewards, and Shake to Pay, which is when your phone allows your Starbucks card to show up by a simple shake and this allows the workers to scan your card from your phone. This has resulted in a tangible increase in customer engagement, reflected by a 20% increase in Starbucks Rewards member spend.
- Having more open space which is used to give customers a pleasurable and relaxed experience when they come in to drink their Starbucks. Renovations are done frequently to incorporate more tables/chairs, etc.
- Stores today carry a small selection of food items and plenty of coffee-free beverages, making them more friendly to children and snack-seekers.
